FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Does Den offer any special promotions?
Five of Den's initial reproductions are unique. The original paintings were
rendered for Western book covers. The famous Winchester 73 Rifle is pictured in
each painting. With this mind, Den has arranged to offer these prints as a
series as well as for individual print purchase. He is identifying them as the
"Winchester 73 Series". All five prints are the same size, and anyone purchasing
the entire series will receive one print free.
2. What can you tell me about the quality of Den's prints?
Den's limited edition Giclee Reproductions are of the highest quality. The
digital setup has been developed directly from his original oil paintings. Den's
prints are published by Staples Fine Art, using their patented Heritage Giclee
Process. All Heritage Giclee prints are produced with pigmented inks on archival
quality watercolor papers and canvas, much like an original painting. This gives
each piece a similar look and feel to an original work of art. All of these
media are treated for use with the inkjet process and produce brilliant, velvety
color. Life-span estimates of wide-gamut pigment ink Giclees by third-party
testing indicate over 150 years with no noticeable fade. We do recommend that
customers treat their Giclee prints the same as they would an original piece of
art. You should never expose any type of artwork to prolonged sunlight or other
harsh conditions. Each reproduction also comes with a certificate of
authenticity.
3. What is meant by Giclee?
The Giclee printing (pronounced "ghee-clay") process was born in the 1990's as
rock musician Graham Nash & his associate Mac Holbert uncovered a new capability
of the Iris inkjet printer called the 3047. These early machines had been
developed for digital graphic proofing but it had not occurred to the
manufacturer that its equipment would be adopted by artists as a digital method
of fine art printing. In 1991, thanks to Mr. Nash's vision, the world's first
digital fine art atelier opened it's doors. Since this early beginning, the
technology in equipment, media, inks and craftsmanship have advanced
immeasurably.
